About Michelle

Professional History

Ms. McKenna is currently Chief Information Officer for the NFL. She is responsible for the league’s technology strategy, shared service delivery and management of the league’s technology activities.  In this unique operating role, she drives transformation, launches new businesses and recently led the league through the 2020 virtual draft and the 2020 Season during a global pandemic.   She is responsible for football technology and partners with Football Operations defining NFL’s Game of the Future.  She is executive sponsor of the League’s Women Initiative Network.

Ms. McKenna joined the NFL from Constellation Energy where she was the Chief Information Officer. She led the acquisition of competitive energy businesses and the ultimate merger with Exelon.  In her role at Constellation she was the key transformation agent driving change to systems, processes, and data to enable consumer energy choice.

Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Michelle was President of Vision Interactive Media Group, where she was responsible for marketing, technology, business development, operations and finance.

Michelle has extensive experience in the media and entertainment industry as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Universal Orlando Resort. In this role, she was responsible for the innovation, oversight and leadership of technology at Universal Orlando Resort, including the launch of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

McKenna was also Senior Vice President, CRM & Chief Information Officer at Centex Destination Properties. She had a 13-year career with The Walt Disney World Company in a variety of executive positions in Resort Development, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Technology.  She is also a CPA and began her career with PriceWaterhouse Coopers.

Board Service & Advisory

Ms. McKenna is an experienced public board director and is currently on the boards of Ring Central (RNG) and Quotient Technologies (QUOT). She has also served on the boards of Insperity (NSP) and ComScore (SCOR) where she helped to bring the company current and get it re-listed. Currently serving on Audit, Compensation and N&G committees, she has also chaired Special Transaction Committees,  N&G Committees, and Enterprise Risk Management Committees. Ms. Mckenna has extensive experience in activist investor relations and defense. Her strong technology, operations, marketing and financial background make her both a strategic and operationally insightful member of the boards on which she serves.  She is also an active investor and advisor to private companies through private equity and venture capital.

Media Appearances and Keynote Presentations

Ms. McKenna is a frequent keynote speaker and media commentator on matters relating to technology and digital transformation in sports, media and large enterprises. Conferences she has recently keynoted include Information Week, Extreme Connect, LiveWorx, and Microsoft Ignite. She has provided on-air commentary for a wide range of media outlets including CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Morning Joe, Good Day New York and The Huffington Post, and has been a guest on Amy Poehler’s “Smart Girls. She is a member of the CNBC Technology Executive Council.

Education

McKenna is a certified public accountant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park Florida.
